Mayor Henry Proclaimed April 25th as Indiana Ground Water Day

Mayor 1Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry recently stopped by Franklin Electric to kick off the Indiana Ground Water Association’s 2015 Spring Field Day and Mud School - which served as a continuing education forum for water well drillers - by proclaiming April 25th as “Indiana Ground Water Day” in the city of Fort Wayne.

Mayor Henry recognized the support of the Indiana Ground Water Association (IGWA) and industry leaders: Franklin Electric (manufacturer of complete water and fueling systems), GEFCO (manufacturer of portable drillings rigs) and Baroid IDP (supplier of drilling fluid additives and services) for their contributions in providing an educational event that delivered product demonstrations, the newest in mud rotary drilling utilizing solids control, and latest in water system technologies.

“It was great to have such a formidable group of companies come together to deliver a very supportive environment for professional well drillers in the ground water industry to share information and learn about technological advances that can positively impact the quantity, quality, and availability of Indiana's ground water resources,” said IGWA President Troy Alexander.

Ground water provides over 39.4% of the United States population its drinking water and serves as one of the most important sources of water for irrigation. As such an important resource, events of this type help to foster cooperation between governmental agencies, communities, land owners and can identify and solve challenges associated with ground water drilling including safety and environmental requirements.

Operation Build SquareFranklin Electric recently teamed with History (formerly The History Channel) to participate in a short segment featured in the TV series Operation Build. The segment featured our Pressure System Solutions, focusing specifically on how the Inline 1100 solved a water pressure challenge for a homeowner in Naples, Florida.

In addition to showing this successful job, Scott Stayton, Director of Portfolio Management, also discusses how Franklin Electric’s various pressure boosting and constant pressure systems can help customers throughout the United States and world with their specific applications.

You Don’t Have To Live With Poor Water Pressure
Many homeowners think they have to live with poor water pressure. They may experience problems like the washing machine taking longer to fill when the sprinkler is on, or the shower trickling when they run the dishwasher. Many don’t know how easy it is to fix their challenge and some don’t even know there is a solution. Truth is, whether you have city water or a private well system, Franklin Electric has a pressure solution for your home. With a Franklin Electric constant pressure system, you can wash laundry, water the garden and run the shower all at the same time, without sputtering water and diminished flow.

Volt‐X VCD Change

As part of Franklin Electric’s dedication to quality, we have recently made a change to the Volt‐X motors ‐ a new and improved voltage change device (VCD). The updated motors will begin shipping from stock as of August 21st, 2014. There will be no change in the part numbers for this product line, just a straight conversion to the new VCD plug.

All Volt‐X product with a 14H date code will be the new design. Should a kit be needed for the new plug, please see the table below.

230 V Voltage Change Plug and Seal Assembly 305 574 901
460 V Voltage Change Plug and Seal Assembly 305 574 902

The new Volt‐X design will ship with both the 230 V and 460 V plug included in the packaging until May 2015. After May 2015, Franklin will only ship the product with the 460 V plug installed. At that point we will supply our distribution partners with 230 V plugs, when needed.

If you have any questions concerning the Volt‐X product line or the change in the VCD plug, feel free to contact your Territory Manager, Field Service Engineer, or the Franklin Electric Hotline at 800.348.2420.
